Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku has called on president Mohammadu Buhari to prevail on security agencies deployed to the state to discharge their constitutional responsibility without political inclination or favouritism.
This is contained in the Governors statewide broadcasts to people of the state in Jalingo.
He said President Mohammadu Buhari who is the father of Nigeria should inform security agencies to remain neutral while the people decide on the choice of their leaders.
Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku commended the Inspector General of Police for deploying twelve Commissioners of police for the sake of the Saturday polls in Wukari, Ibi, Lau, Karim Lamido, Bali, Kurmi, Jalingo,vDonga and Sardauna Local Government Area.
The Governor also revealed the presence of armed thugs imported from Benue, Nassarawa, Adamawa and Gombe states to disrupt elections in the state particularly in Wukari where fake military uniforms are being distributed to political thugs for use on election day.
The Governor maintained that elections is not a do or die affair bringing into cognizance that the state has witnessed an unfair share of internal crises which the state have worked hard to achieve saying peace has no substitute.
Governor Darius Ishaku draw attention of the general public of a truck loaded with INEC sensitive and Non sensitive materials that was intercepted in Jalingo recently by vigilant security agencies and other patriotic people in Taraba state.
The Governor affirmed that after interrogation by the Commissioner of police who took charge of the situation discovered that the driver made a claim that the items emanated from Gombe INEC Zonal office and were to be delivered in Jalingo.
He urged security agencies to thoroughly investigate the incident in view of reliable information that six more vehicles carrying similar consignments departed the same office in Gombe and were heading to Taraba.
Governor Darius Ishaku said based on intelligence reports seven of the vehicles were dispatched to Taraba State but only one has been intercepted.
The Governor hope and pray for the state to continue enjoying peace during and after the elections.
He wished Tarabans and Nigerians a successful Governorship and State House of Assembly elections.
