Hope Afresh Foundation Jalingo, an NGO of the Wife of Taraba State Governor, Barr. Anna Darius Ishaku, in collaboration with Taraba State Government, has graduated the 2nd batch of the Skills Acquisition 2018 participants.
The ceremony which took place yesterday at the Conference Hall of the Hope Afresh foundation Jalingo was honored with the presence of the founder of the foundation, Barr. Mrs. Anna Ishaku along with wives of Local Government Chairmen, Women leader PDP, Permanent Secretary Ministry of Cooperative and poverty alleviation.
Speaking at the ceremony, Barr. Anna said it was a great delight to have contributed to the development of human and societal empowerment through her foundation and the state government. She stated that since the inception of the foundation, priority has always been given to skills training for Entrepreneurship development of the people.
Mrs. Ishaku encouraged the trainees to utilize the knowledge acquired judiciously and assured them that the best amongst them would be used as trainees during related subsequent training. She appreciated all partners of the foundation especially Ministry of Cooperative and poverty alleviation for involving the foundation for adding value to Tarabans.
Earlier, the Project Manager of the foundation, Mrs. Helen Douglas expressed that the aim of the training in mitigating the increasing rate of unemployment and idleness among youths in the state has been fully achieved with the vision and mission of the foundation.
She also stated her appreciated to the ‘Naa Ndola’ (Mother), Barr. Mrs. Anna Ishaku as she is fondly called by many and the development partners such as solid skill consult, National Directorate of Employment (NDE), Central bank through their implementing agency A.I development services limited, national industrial skills development programme (NISDP), Ministry of cooperative and poverty alleviation and many others in contributing to the training achievement.
“The training has successfully graduated 663 Graduates in different skills like tailoring, welding, computer appreciation, hairdressing, makeup and headgear, baking and catering and cosmetic production,” she said.
The trainees were carefully selected from all the 16 Local Government Areas of Taraba State, including the Yantu Special Development Area and NGADA Special Development Area respectively.
The trainees who were also beneficiaries of the disbursement of diverse accessories such as brand new desktops and printers, sewing machines, welding appliances, hair dryers machines, gas cookers and makeup kits which will help them to become self-reliant.
