The permanent Secretary Bureau for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Alhaji Bello Yero has earned the prestigious Award for Humanitarian Services by the Radio, Television and Theatre Workers Union (RATTAWU), a renowned media workers association of Nigeria.
The award ceremony was held during the week at the Gym Hall, Jolly Nyame Stadium, Jalingo.
Through the Rescue administration of Governor Darius Ishaku, Alhaji Bello Yero has shown exemplary team spirit in his commitment to impacting positive change to the State, he has demonstrated his ability to complement the vision of change to the various sectors of the Local Government Area. The State Government has benefitted from a well-planned Budget, well-timed cash backing, and a very massive support and contributions from Bureau for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs.
Governor Darius Ishaku was ably represented by Hon. Speaker of House, Abel Peter Diah who said “Alhaji Bello Yero is not only a philanthropist but also a person who has true leadership qualities, lover of the people and loyalist to the Government of Arc. Darius Dickson Ishaku”, he stated.
In his speech, Bello Yero thanked RATTAWU for finding him worthy for such a prestigious award.
“In all the humanitarian services that we render in order to raise people’s standard of living, I have never thought of receiving an award or reward, because to me I was simply doing my best as a responsible public servant, not knowing that my modest contributions to the social and humanitarian services were being watched and recognized by RATTAWU. Reflecting on all this, I humbly stand before you to accept the honor bestowed upon me, with recognition to my family, and all the good men and women that have been working with me in Bureau for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs”, he said.
In closing, Alhaji Bello dedicated his award to the good people of Taraba State and especially to the first family, their Excellencies Mr. and Mrs. Darius Dickson Ishaku for their human disposition in lifting the lives of the downtrodden and rescuing Taraba and Tarabians from shackles of underdevelopment.
The National President of RATTAWU, Comrade Kabiru Garbage Tsanni who was represented by Vice-president North East, Comrade Danladi U. Philip said, the selection of Alhaji Belo Yero was done after careful examination of all his achievements in the state and was found worthy for the award.
Commissioners, Permanent secretaries, Council Chairmen, and traditional rulers and other dignitaries were in attendance.
