Chief of Air staff arrives Taraba to Supervise Quick Response Wing.

The Executive Governor of Taraba state, Arch. Darius Dickson Ishaku received the Chief of staff of the Nigerian Airforce (NAF), Air Marshal Sadique Baba Abubakar today at the executive chambers of the Government house Jalingo.

Air Marshal Abubakar said they are in the state to supervise the 23 Quick Response Wing (QRW) in Nguroje and Gembu, Sarduana Local Government Council in Taraba. Other Quick Response Wings established by NAF in the North Central regions are located in Doma, Nasarawa State and Agatu in Benue. He reassured the Governor of his force professionalism of curtailing any endangerment to the residents of the area and seeks only cooperation from the citizenry of the state.

In addition, the chief of air staff said the special forces will continue to do its best in building a robust Air Force capable of responding effectively, efficiently and timely to the state’s security imperatives.

He noted that his unit is the whole kit and caboodle for the success of their operations in the areas hence he is not seeking for any financial allocations from the state.

Meanwhile, Governor Ishaku who lauded the presence of the Air Marshal and his security entourage to the state said it is not simply peace that is needed in the state but enduring peace. The synergy with the security force to foster a peace living Taraba is highly important for the continuous work of his Rescue administration, so far the state is enjoying considerable development in the water sector, road construction, and tourism.

Governor Ishaku said the State Government will do all it takes to support the security force in the discharge of their duties especially in the area of providing adequate accommodation for the units in the area.

Governor Darius disclosed to the Air Marshal that there was a need to deploy a unit to the Jalingo Airport and the Aircraft base in Kashimbila which will further help in protecting the Kashimbila dam.

He urged the Chief of Air staff to spare no effort to do what it takes to ensuring peace in the area and the state in general.
