Wife of Taraba Governor, Barr. Anna Darius Ishaku has today flagged up second phase skills acquisition initiated by the Hope Afresh Foundation Taraba.
Performing the exercise at the conference Hall of Hope Afresh Foundation, Barr. Anna Ishaku urged the participants to be punctual to their places of training for maximal results.
She maintained that the training is aimed at reducing joblessness among women and youths in the state.
She appreciated participants for the zeal shown by coming out massively preparatory to the flagging up ceremony.
She encouraged them to pay keen interest to their trainers to enable them to learn the skills better.
The Governor’s wife expressed dismay over the lukewarm attitudes of some beneficiaries who have sold out their starter kits saying the act will not condone any longer.
Earlier, in her address of welcome Senior special assistant SSA to the Governor’s wife on Project Helen Douglas said four hundred participants are to benefit from the training.
She said they received training in welding, tailoring, computer application, Hairdressing, cosmetic, baking and catering, pedicure and manicure among others.
She urged them to be serious with their training to enable the be employers of labor.
In their testimonies, those have benefited from the training, Rahab Hiridus, Sani Ibrahim, Rakiya Bala all said after their training they now have a means of livelihood adding that they are also training others to be self-reliant.
The trainees were drawn from the sixteen local government areas and two Special Development Areas.
