Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku says Taraba State University is moving towards excellence with the arrays of Professors in the institution.
The Governor made the remarks during the maiden convocation lecture of the University in Jalingo.
He expressed happiness that the institution can now boast of fifty-two Professors drawn from different parts of the Country.
The Governor advised management of the institution to follow normal channels in advancing issues concerning them for the sake of harmony.
Earlier, Vice Chancellor of the Taraba State University Vincent Tenebe welcomed Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku, his entourage and members of the academia for grazing the maiden convocation lecture.
Commenting, Chairman of the Convocation lecture Professor Sani Sambo urged graduates to be Job creators than to be job seekers.
He condemned the rate of unemployment in the country that has reached an alarming rate.
During his Lecture with the Theme, Job seekers and job providers, Roles of University on entrepreneurship development by Tony Elumelu, who was represented by Customer service head of strategy North of the United Bank of Africa UBA.Danjuma Salihu said entrepreneurship is critical to the development and survival of any Nation.
He said over fifty percent of the unemployed, affects Youths between the ages of eighteen and thirty-five.
Salihu maintained that the only way to industrialize the Nation is to leverage on Small-scale industries with collaboration between Governments and the private sector.
In his vote of thanks, Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the Taraba state University Joseph Rishante, thanked Governor Ishaku for his commitment to education development in the state.
Vice Chancellors, Professors, Lecturers within and outside the state, Royal Fathers, Students and Members of the Taraba State University Community, attended the maiden convocation lecture.
