Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku has commended the Presidency for initiating free Medical outreach programs for states in the North East.
The Governor made the commendation in an interview after supervising the ongoing free medical service by the Presidential Committee on North East initiatives at the General hospital in Takum.
He remarked that the free medical intervention would go along way in ameliorating the sufferings of the people.
Governor Ishaku thanked Doctors and nurses for their selfless efforts to patients who avail themselves during the exercise and encouraged residents of Takum and environs to support the free medical outreach program for the benefit of the people.
Commenting,head of humanitarian,Resettlement and Rehabilitation of the PCNI. Sidi Ali Mohammed said the outreach program earlier scheduled for one would be extended to two as a result of the large numbers of people that have turned out so far.
Mohammed who stated that the program was done in collaboration with the state Government identified management of the population as a major challenge.
He emphasized that the free medical outreach program going on in Takum Local Government Area is the first phase.
During the supervision Governor Ishaku went round the Dental, Consulting, Operation units including Male and female surgical ,Children and theater ward, accompanied by Members of the PCNI. Commissioner of Health Innocent Vakkai and others.
Most beneficiaries that spoke to our Government correspondent thanked the Federal and state Government for the program amidst the poverty crippling the society.
The Presidential Committee on North East initiatives was established by President Muhammadu Buhari in twenty sixteen with the task of strategizing,coordination of all humanitarian and development efforts in the North East.
