A delegation of Jalingo Local Government stakeholders representing all segments constituting the structure of Jalingo Local Government has officially endorsed Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku for a second tenure in the coming 2019 elections.
This was made known yesterday at the Government House Executive Chambers, Jalingo.
The chairman Jalingo Local Government Council, Alhaji Abdul Nasir Bobboji said in his speech to the Governor that amidst the numerous developments embarked upon in Jalingo and the State at large through careful and thorough reflections of his Rescue Administration, have unanimously with the position of the State party Chairman, Hon. Victor Bala Kona (P.D.P) hereby endorse Governor Ishaku as the P.D.P gubernatorial flag bearer.
Also, Alhaji Bobboji who expressed on some matters of serious concern said that though the government and other security agencies are doing their best, youth militancy, drug abuse as well as rampant and increase cases of rape needs the urgent intervention of his Excellency because the pervasive magnitude of these ugly unfolding vices is capable of degenerating into serious social menace.
In his response, Governor Ishaku commended the council for the confidence bestowed on him and pledged to uphold the responsibility the best way he can. His Excellency in conveying his intentions, poke on the belief that no Governor seeks to suppress or oppress the people because the people are his responsibility and he owes it to himself to continually be truthful in the reins of his leadership. He further stated that he will intensify efforts on the first lady’s foundation; HOPE AFRESH in tackling the issues of the youth restiveness.
Governor Darius vehemently urged all citizens of the State from the top officials to the common man to conduct themselves peacefully without any violence as the 2019 elections approaches because what unites the state will always be bigger than what divides it.
