Governor Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo of Gombe State visited Taraba State yesterday to condole the Governor and the State on the death of Honorable Hosea Ibi and the Tarabans who were killed by the unfortunate incidents of herders/farmers clashes in the State. The Governor was received by the Deputy Governor of Taraba State Engr. Haruna Manu at the Jalingo Airport.
In his condolence message to the State, Governor Dankwambo soberly expressed the need for the Federal Government and all security chiefs to increase their efforts to ensure that peace returns to the Northeast. He also appealed to Taraba and Gombe State citizenry to continue to show solidarity and support to the policies of the Government. The Governor extended his condolence to Aku Uka of Wukari and all the traditional rulers in the State.
In his speech, Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku of Taraba State welcomed Governor Dankwambo and all his entourage to Taraba State. Arch. Ishaku stated that “Love is in the foot” meaning if you love your friend or brother you will always be on your feet to visit him. The Governor lamented on the rising cases of kidnapping in the State and called on all security agencies to intensify their efforts in bringing the situation under control.
Governor Ishaku said the visit was a landmark and a tonic to him and the people of Taraba State. He appreciated the Governor of Gombe State for the solidarity visit.
