The Deputy Governor of Taraba State Engineer Haruna Manu has revealed the motive of the Governor to ensure that Chairmen of Council areas step up their Security Surveillance. The Deputy Governor said this to the Government House Press Crew shortly after a closed door meeting with the 16 council Chairmen and the Coordinators of the two Development Areas, Ngada and Yangtu.
Engr. Haruna Manu stated the urgent need to fortify security survellance across the state particularly, local government areas that fall along the borderlines with some of the neighbouring states.
The Deputy Governor also mentioned that, the monitoring team set up by the Bureau for Local Government and Chieftancy Affairs to monitor projects executed by councils Chairmen from allocated developmental project funds also submitted their report to the Governor who was satisfied with the projects.
Haruna went further to mention the Governor’s intentions to release more funds periodically to the council Chairmen to ensure that development gets to the grassroots and the impact of the government is felt.
