A group of about twenty Alumni of the Nigeria-American Exchange today visited Her Excellency Barr Anna Darius Ishaku. The exchange Programme which is a structure of the US State Department is a platform for representatives of different States in different countries around the world to participate in developmental training in various sectors, all to proffer solutions for peaceful co-existence, growth, and development among people.
The group which was led by the Taraba State Coordinator Al-Amin Tafida and other Alumni’s served as an opportunity for them to share the experiences they had in the United State, and discuss how they have been able to put them into developmental projects to help the State. The Alumni’s testified that the training they acquired has changed their mentality and perception towards Peace, self-reliance and community developmental projects all to build a better community, State, and Country at large.
Her Excellency responding to the visit expressed her joy and profound gratitude to the group. She gave a momentary on her experience in the U.S as well as how the programme has helped her build a bond between people from all walks of life and countries. She emphasized that leadership is all about ordinary people doing extraordinary things and every one must utilize the knowledge acquired to do great things. Her Excellency went further to congratulate the group especially the Youths for indulging in community development projects. She also stressed the need for continuous meetings and a Secretariat to serve as a point to deliberate and work towards peace and progress in Taraba State.
