Hope Afresh Foundation In Collaboration With C.B.N Graduates 450 Trainees.

The first set of participants undergoing entrepreneurship training organized by the Hope Afresh Foundation Taraba in collaboration with Central Bank of Nigeria graduated today in Jalingo. The event which took place at the Hope Afresh Foundation, Conference hall had in attendance the four hundred and fifty graduating participants.

Speaking at the ceremony, the First Lady of Taraba State Barr. Anna Darius Ishaku said over five thousand people have been trained in different skills by Hope Afresh Foundation Taraba and expressed her immense joy and satisfaction with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) initiative to issue out loans to the Entrepreneurship Development Centre (EDC) participants. She advised the Participants to utilize the facilities given to them and strive for greatness in order to develop themselves and the State at large. Her Excellency also pleaded with the Participants to ensure that they pay back the loans secured as at when due so as to create future opportunities for other batches to come.

The Central Bank of Nigeria representative Mr. Nura Boyiga, expressed his satisfaction with the participation of both the young and old and representatives of all the local governments in the Skill Acquisition. He further said that all participants, as well as Tarabans, should join the fight against poverty and do something skillful.

The Managing Director Micro Finance Bank, Alh. Aminu Mamman Lau congratulated Her Excellency, Barr. Anna Darius Ishaku for bringing the Skills and Loan initiative to the State after a long while. He said the loans are given at a rate of 9% and participants must endeavor to carry out all necessary documentation process to enable them to get access to the loans.

Amongst the successful trainees to get a loan of two hundred and fifty thousand naira were Alice John, Fauziya Badamasi, Nyopuu Deborah and others. Furthermore, the Participants showed great appreciation to the Her Excellency and her Foundation for the opportunity given and presented a play set and special songs to that effect. The event had in attendance the Commissioner of Women Affairs & Child Development, Hon. Lois Emmanuel, the Wife of the SSG, Mrs. A. Jellason, Programme director EDC North East Zone, Mr. Idris Bawa, Resource Persons Emmanuel Ilimi, Musa Umar, Ahmed Mustapha, and others.
