A group known as PDP Loyal Group 100 Percent yesterday called on stakeholders in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to pursue a genuine and speedy reconciliation to brighten the party’s chances in the 2019 elections.
National Coordinator of the group, Hon. Dennis Shima made the appeal while addressing journalists in Jalingo.
He noted that after the Supreme Court judgment that settled the crisis that rocked the party for more than a year, what was needed was a genuine dialogue for quick reconciliation and cautions against inflammatory statements over the supreme court judgment that sacked Sen. Ali Modu Sheriff.
“We are one big Democratic family and must use all at our disposal to foster peace, unity, and progress of our great party PDP.
“We need each other to achieve the goals of our great party ahead of forthcoming general elections in 2019,” he said.
Shima also called on the PDP leaders to henceforth obey the party’s constitution in all its dealings to prevent a recurrence
of the ugly experience.
“Given the bitter experience the party had in the last one year, it is important to call on leaders from ward to the national levels of party organs to strictly do all things in accordance with the Constitution of the party as amended.”
According to him, adherence to the party’s constitution will guide the party right and address grievances amicably which will pave the way for the victory of the party in future elections.
