Wife of Taraba Gov, Others Bag Exemplary Leadership Award.

The wife of Taraba State Governor,  Barr. Anna Darius Ishaku has again added to her numerous awards, an Exemplary Leadership Award from the Christian Council of Nigeria CCN, Taraba State chapter.

Alongside the wife of the Governor, the PDP Northeast Chairman, Ambassador Emmanuel Njiwah and the immediate past CAN Chairman, Bishop Timothy Yahaya were also given the Exemplary Leadership Award, while the Jalingo CAN Chairman, Rev. Abraham Ogah and Venerable Dantala Danladi received Awards of Merit.

Speaking shortly after receiving the Award, the wife of the Governor, who was represented by the SSA, Special Duties, Hope Afresh Foundation Taraba, Ms. Major Tafida expressed delight at the occasion and appreciated CCN for the Award.

She also commended the organisers for putting together such an event to honour those who have excelled in their fields of endeavour as she prayed God to reward them abundantly.

Earlier in his welcome speech during the Award Service and Inauguration of New Excos at the First Baptist Church, Jalingo yesterday, the CCN Chairman, Rev. Iro Aliyuda Moses who appreciated all who turned out for the programme, lauded the achievements of Her Excellency, describing her as a bridge builder, a mother in the land, “an arrow head, torch bearer, pillar and a springboard of the NGADA community struggle for freedom and self determination”.

According to him, the event which is meant to “honour outstanding personalities for their spectacular achievements in human endeavours, and two of their pastors for their unwavering commitment towards their service to the Church bloc”, is the first of its kind in CCN.

He further explained that, CCN was established in Nigeria in 1929 and brought to Taraba in the early 1990s, with a membership of Seven denominations.

In his sermon, the Bishop, Anglican Diocese, Taraba State, Rt. Rev. Foreman Nedison  spoke on the topic, ‘Run to Obtain the Prize’.

Taking his Text from the book of Philippians 3:13-14, he admonished Christians to run the race to obtain eternity with God.

The Clergy  enumerated the steps towards obtaining the prize as well as requirements for running the race, to include; patience, diligence, faith, grace, discipline and focus.
