Taraba state will soon regain its place in sports.
This was the assertion of a former Assistant Coach of Taraba Queens FC, Matthew Ouesso while speaking to Taravoices in an exclusive chat.
According to the football tactician, the decline in sports is due to human error that can be rectified with a careful approach to the disturbing trend of strike by footballers over unpaid wages.
“What I suggest government should do is to organize a stakeholders summit where everyone can come with their own submission and through brainstorming, a way out can be forged to end the negative outlook the strikes have brought to this government” adding, “to be honest with you,I think those that see our Governor as someone who does not love sports are in error”.
“His Excellency cannot be spending money without a cost recovery framework in place. He needs time and it is only a matter of time, will we regain our place in sports” he concluded.
Recent developments in the sports sector has once again pitched the players of Taraba FC and the state government against each other but in a swift reaction, the CAF B license coach, praised the Governor for all his interventions in alleviating the pains of the players, adding that much can still be done as these are youths who have given their time and energy as service to the state.
