Hope Afresh Foundation Taraba has continued to make an impact in Skills Acquisition Training as it graduated its first set of 48 Tailors trained in Senegalese fashion design, tagged ‘Tarabalese fashion design’.
The training exercise which was flagged off on the 10th April 2017, climaxed with the graduation ceremony and presentation of certificates to the trainees on Saturday 6th May 2017 at the Hope Afresh Foundation Conference Hall in Jalingo.
Addressing the gathering, wife of the Taraba State Governor and CEO Hope Afresh Foundation Taraba, Barr. Anna Darius Ishaku who described the trainees as “our joy and pride” expressed delight at the success of the training, saying she is overwhelmed at what is happening at the moment.
Barr. Anna Ishaku also expressed her profound gratitude to Dr. Elizabeth Wachap who she described as the brain behind the Senegalese fashion design training.
According to her, the Foundation is out to assist people who need its services, calling for partnership and support from well-wishers to achieve its aim of empowering the people and uplifting their standard of living.
While commending the trainees for their patience in learning despite the language barrier, she urged them to maximally utilise the knowledge acquired to their benefit and the society at large.
She promised to support them and as well link them to where they can access help to aid them to actualise their dreams and excel in their areas of endeavour.
She called on well-wishers to emulate Dr. Wachap and partner with the Foundation by contributing towards establishing a centre and equipping it with relevant machines where the trainees can always go to actualise what they have learnt.
In her remarks, the Provost College of Agriculture, Jalingo, Dr. Elizabeth Wachap who extolled the humility of the wife of the Governor, commended her innovative programmes, stressing that it is a privilege to have an educated First Lady who is open to all her subjects.
Dr. Wachap expressed delight for being part of the success story of the Governor’s wife, saying, success is measured by how much value one adds to the lives of others, which she said is what Her Excellency is doing.
She further pleaded on behalf of the graduands that machines be provided for them to help them carry out what they have learnt effectively.
In their separate remarks, the trainees appreciated the Governor’s wife for the privilege granted them to add to their skills in the area of Senegalese fashion design which is tagged, ‘Tarabalese design’.
The trainees who emphasised that they lack words to appreciate the Governor’s wife, Dr. Wachap and their Trainers said, they have acquired adequate knowledge and are well equipped to deliver the best to Taraba in terms of Senegalese fashion Design.
