The wife of the Governor gave the commendation at the Hope Afresh Foundation office today while paying host to members of the team who honoured her invitation to come for deliberations.
According to Barr. Anna Ishaku, the team performed creditably well by educating the audience on the dangers of drug abuse as well as proffered solutions on the way forward.
She said the invitation is to provide a forum for them to jointly review the past programme and bring out lapses with the view to making adjustments and improving on areas of strength for the next round of the sensitization campaign in the South and Central Zones respectively.
She further emphasized the need for formulated policies to be implemented, stressing that more than one rehabilitation centres will be established, at least one per zone if God permits, adding that the Governor is very much interested in the course.
They however pointed out areas that needed improvement which include: advertisements to create awareness to enhance more participation, implementation of solutions raised in the paper presentations and extension of the programme to other Zones amongst others.
One of them, Coordinator Sandwich, Taraba State University, Mrs. E. B. Shamaki stated that the success of the event could be seen in the fact that, students who are victims have been reporting to her for counselling and some of her friends in UNICEF have indicated interest to partner with the Foundation when the Rehabilitation Centres are established.
Some members of the team include, Assistant State Commander, Operations and Intelligence, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, Peter Odaudu, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Justice Jalingo, Apwenyan Shitta, Dr. Dashe Dasogot and others.
