Christians Urged to Imbibe the Habit of Thanksgiving.

Christians have been urged to imbibe the habit of thanksgiving to God at all times as this is his will concerning his children.

This charge was giving today by Pastor Mark Tikwe at the Christ Glorious Army Inc. Jalingo, during the thanksgiving service of the Protocol Officer to the Wife of Taraba State Governor, Ms. Mairo Tafida.

The Clergy who titled his message ‘ Understanding the Power of Thanksgiving’, took his Bible text from the book of Psalms 100:4, and gave a three fold definition of Thanksgiving as recounting the past act of God in our lives, an attitude of gratitude for what God has done and a force that moves your heart to celebrate the act of God.

Citing from various portions of the bible, he gave reasons why Christians should give thanks to God to include: it is a good thing, it is God’s will, it is the key to accessing God’s promises, it brings about multiplication, brings dead things to life and prayers are incomplete without thanksgiving.

In her remarks, Wife of the Taraba State Governor, Barr. Anna Darius Ishaku appreciated the Church for standing by the celebrant in her moments of trial, stressing that some times back in her life too, the Church stood by her while battling with a misterious ailment that nearly claimed her life and victory was hers at last.

She therefore called on believers to learn to trust God and praise him even in difficult moments using the Bible as a guide, pointing out that if God could raise dry bones to life, then nothing is too difficult for him to do.

Speaking on the reason for organising a thanksgiving service, Ms. Mairo Tafida stated that, the essence was to appreciate God for seeing her through her moment of pain and surgery and sparing her life between December and February as she never thought she would be alive to this moment.

She further appreciated the Governor’s wife for her love and support, as well as the Church, family and friends for been there in her trying moments as she prayed God to reward each person abundantly.
