Wife of Taraba State Governor and Founder, Hope Afresh Foundation Taraba, Barr. Anna Darius Ishaku has stated that the Foundation is ready to partner with the ongoing Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN Entrepreneurship Development Training for North – Eastern States.
The Wife of the Governor made this statement today at the Taraba State University Skills Acquisition Centre, Jalingo while inspecting facilities at the Center, preparatory to the take off of the training, which she said is intended to build capacity and help in making participants self-reliant.
According to her, she is at the Skills Acquisition Center to partner with the Institution in making the place conducive and convenient for the training of 220 Participants who had already registered.
She explained that the training is open to Women, Youths, Physically Challenged and all interested persons, as well as appreciated the management of the TSU Skills Acquisition Centre for their hard work and cooperation.
Speaking with Journalists in an interview, the Project Manager Hope Afresh Foundation Taraba, Mrs. Helen Douglas Saba, explained that, the CBN Entrepreneurship Development Training has been in existence for over 2 years in the North-Eastern Zone.
The Project Manager who said most of the States within the Zone have been benefitting, however noted that Taraba has not been able to key into it due to what she referred to as an ‘I-Don’t-Care’ attitude.
She said the Training for this Zone normally holds in Maiduguri, the Zonal Headquarters, however, the Governor’s wife who has decided to partner with CBN on the Training, specifically requested that that of Taraba be done in Jalingo.
According to Mrs. Douglas, the Entrepreneurship Development Training is open to everyone that is interested, and will be a 4 weeks theoretical training and 8 weeks internship, at the end of which participants will be issued Certificates as well as linked to particular Financial Institutions that will process loans for start up of businesses.
She further announced that the Flag Off of the training for the first batch will be on 10th April, 2017, by 9.am
In another incidence, wife of the Governor also visited the two Christian cemeteries in Magami and Jeka da Fari to inspect the level of work so far.
Speaking on the outcome of her inspection, Barr. Anna Darius Ishaku declared that she was satisfied with the level at which the work had progressed.
She appreciated her Project Manager, the Jalingo CAN Chairman and his Secretary for their support and supervision of the work, saying she is looking forward to the day of the Commissioning.
She further stressed that it is important for everyone to be involved in taking care of the cemetery considering the fact that it is every body’s final abode, adding that there is still room for people to support the completion and maintenance of the work.
