The former Taraba Governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in the 2015 general elections, Mr. David Sabo Kente on Monday decamped to the All Progressive Congress (APC).
Kente who announced his decision to defect to the APC in a chat with newsmen in Jalingo said the decision was to enable him align forces with other progressive minded personalities in the APC to reposition Taraba State on the path of development.
The former SDP flag bearer who dumped the PDP in the build up to the 2015 general elections explained that he left PDP in the first place to join SDP because of lack of internal democracy which he said has already sent the party to her grave in Taraba.
“Today, no right thinking politician that is worth his salt would identify with the PDP in Taraba because of the obvious poor performance of Governor Darius Ishaku.
“Darius Ishaku has nothing to show as his achievement since assumption of office close to two years now. So, there is no justification identifying myself with PDP. And of course the SDP has no clear cut future in the Taraba of our dream” he said.
Kente who said he will soon make his formal declaration at the State Secretariat of APC in Jalingo, also called on his teeming supporters to come out enmass and join him in the APC.
The former SDP guber candidate had recently instructed his lawyers to withdraw his case at the Supreme Court, challenging the primary election that brought Governor Darius Ishaku to power in the interest of Taraba State.
