The consensus candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, for the Chairmanship of Jalingo LGA, Abdulnasser Bobboji, has said that unity, peace and development will be his bedrock when he assumes the leadership of the council, saying without these, ‘virtually nothing meaningful can be achieved’.
Bobboji made this declaration during a chat with journalists in his office Thursday, after he emerged as the consensus candidate of the PDP for the forthcoming Local Government elections slated for February, 2017.
According to Bobboji, who is the current Caretaker Chairman of Jalingo LGC, the governor has these principles as his core philosophy and that as a leader, one is suppose to be a bridge builder, able to unite and strengthen his people.
“So my first responsibility is to unite the party as well as to unite the entire people of Jalingo and take them to the next level in terms of peace, unity and development”, he stated.
He therefore advised the electorate to “vote for responsible leadership”. He added that “they should vote for quality, credibility and shouldn’t just go for divisive and trivial considerations that bedeviled our polity in the past”.
Bobboji then used the opportunity to thank the people for the responsibility vested on him, saying he was humbled by the “ vote of confidence” reposed on him.
