The former Minister of Defence, Retired General and one of Nigeria’s Military veteran, Theophilus Yakubu Danjuma on Saturday condoled the Aku Uka of Wukari, the family of Amfani and the entire people of Wukari over the death of late Jibrin Amfani who passed on recently.
At the Palace of the Aku Uka of Wukari, General T.Y Danjuma who is popularly called by his Wukari traditional title, the Abonta of Wukari said he received the new of late Jibrin Amfani’s death with great shock considering his contribution to the country and particularly his revered love for the Jukun race.
T.Y Danjuma maintained that the passing on is a great loss to the Jukun kingdom taking into cognisance his enormous contribution to the socio economic development of Southern Taraba, particularly his desire for the people of Southern Taraba to be well educated so that they also can contribute to the development of the country.
Speaking further, the former Defense Minister stated that the Palace of the Aku benefited greatly from the wealth of experience of late Amfani, when he chaired the advisory council of the Aku, Dr. Shekarau Angyu Massa Ibi Kuvyon ll, the position he held until his demise.
He described the late Jibrin Amfani as an embodiment of knowledge and precision in his story line while recounting past events with utmost accuracy in dates and time, adding that the entire Jukun kingdom will greatly miss his wealth of experience.
Responding, the Aku Uka of Wukari, Dr. Shekarau Angyu Massa Ibi Kuvyon ll who is also the Chairman Council of Chiefs Taraba State lamented that he has missed one of his greatest confidant and loyalist who contributed maximally to what his palace and the entire Wukari Chiefdom is today.
Dr. Shekarau Angyu Massa Ibi maintained that late Jibrin Amfani elderly counsel contributed enormously to the present peace that is bubbling in Wukari today and revealed that it would be difficult to fill the vacuum created as a result of his passing on.
The paramount ruler disclosed that the late Amfani gave his whole best to the Palace and the entire Wukari Chiefdom saying that, he is confident that posterity will be fair to him and stated that the late Jukun icon is resting peacefully in the great beyond.
While at the compound of late Jibrin Amfani, TY Danjuma told the family that the death of Jibrin Amfani is not only a loss to the family but to him as well, saying that, he has lost a brother and a friend whom he had related closely with for decades.
He called on the family to accept his death in good faith, saying that he died as a fulfilled man who treated humanity with love and respect and also made sacrifices for his country and the Jukun people and prayed for the repose of his soul.
In her response, the wife of late Jibrin Amfani, mama Sarah Nwuda Amfani thanked General T.Y Danjuma for the condolence visit saying that, her husband lived a fulfilled life having served humanity and the Jukun people with respect and love, dedicating his time towards ensuring the upliftment of the Jukun kingdom.
She also told the General that he was a wonderful friend to her family and prayed that he will continue with the friendship even after the demise of her late husband, and appreciated him for always being there whenever her family is in need.
Taraba State Governor, Arc. Darius Dickson Ishaku, Taraba State PDP Chairman,Hon. Victor Bala Kona and members representing both Wukari I and II constituencies in the Taraba State House of Assembly, Hon. Pius Sabo and Josiah John Aji accompanied T.Y Danjuma on the condolence visit to Wukari.
