The Free Skills Acquisition Training Programme organised by the wife of Taraba State Governor, Barr. Anna Darius Ishaku for the Central Zone has begun in Sardauna and Gashaka Local Government Areas.
Speaking during the programme which was held at the Government Day Secondary School Hall, Gembu and Gashaka Local Government Secretariat Serti, the Governor’s wife who was represented by her Protocol Officer, Ms. Mairo Tafida expressed Her Excellency’s commitment towards ensuring that beneficiaries are well equipped with functional and profitable skills that will alleviate their sufferings and better their living condition.
She explained that the training exercise, which is meant for interested beneficiaries in Welding, Mechanic and Tailoring for Six months and Cosmetology for Three days, will go a long way to engage them positively to curb idleness and negative vices.
She stressed the need for participants to be committed to the training exercise to justify Her Excellency’s commitment towards bequeathing them with profitable skills.
In their separate remarks, the Caretaker Chairman Sardauna LGA, Hon. John Yeb, and the Protocol Officer to the Caretaker Chairman, Gashaka LGA, Mr. Williams Francis expressed appreciation to the wife of the Governor, describing her initiative as timely in ensuring that poverty is eradicated in both Local Government Areas.
They pledged their support to the success of the training exercise that will empower their people for economic sustainability and a life of fruitfulness.
Shortly before presenting the trainees to their trainers, song presentations and dances were also featured in appreciation to the Governor’s wife.
