As Taraba students bask in the glory of winning first place in both the senior and junior categories of the NTA, ETV Expo 2016, Wife of the Taraba State Governor, Barr. Anna Darius Ishaku has applauded the efforts of teachers in the astounding performance.
Speaking during the presentation of trophies to her recently at the Hope Afresh Foundation in Jalingo, the Governor’s wife appreciated the zeal of the participants and organizers without which she said the victory would not have been attained.
She also thanked her Press Secretary Mrs Elizabeth Usen Smith for her constant reminders which has made her part of those that supported the students and prayed that the students become champions in life.
Responding to the pleas of the NTA General Manager for assistance, Barr. Anna Ishaku lamented that the media outlet is left without funds from the headquarters and urged them to look for ways to press home their demands with the headquarters.
She however promised to bring their request to the attention of the Governor.
He emphasized that the feat would not have been possible without the support of the ever reliable and brilliant teachers and most importantly the Governor’s wife.
He appealed to the State Government to reward the students so they further develop their projects and used the opportunity to appeal to Her Excellency to in his words “push for the State Government’s assistance to the NTA for access road and fencing of the premises.”
The General Manager added that the media house “gets nothing as subvention from the headquarters but survives mainly on internally generated revenue. “
