In pursuance of Barr. Anna Darius Ishaku’s goal to bequeath productive, functional and marketable skills to the unemployed and unskilled school leavers in the State, the Hope Afresh Foundation has extended the free skills acquisition training to Takum and Ussa Local Government Areas.
The Caretaker Chairman of Takum LGA Hon. Prince Shiban, in his welcome address, stated that the people lack words with which to appreciate Her Excellency for a well thought out program which is in line with the Governor’s Rescue Mission to ensure that people at the grassroots enjoy the dividends of democracy “.
He and the royal fathers present at the occasion urged participants to make good use of the opportunity so they could become self-employed and useful to themselves, the community and the state in its entirety.
Represented by her Press Secretary, Mrs Elisabeth Usen Smith, the Governor’s wife disclosed that the program is being effectively monitored to ensure that beneficiaries are well equipped.
She stated that Her Excellency is committed to helping the less privileged in the State, hence the use of this medium to empower the people. She requested for more prayers to enable the present administration to deliver more dividends of democracy.
The program which commenced yesterday at the Honourable Tanko Tanti Hall was also extended to Kashimbila and Ussa Local Government Area.
The Skills Acquisition Training Program which is organised for unskilled school leavers and the unemployed of all ages and sex would include training in cosmetology, tailoring, welding and motor mechanics.
The trainees would be attached to trainers for six months so the apprentices can acquire the necessary skills while those for cosmetology would be trained for three days.
