Skills Acquisition Training Programme Begins in Donga.

In continuation of the Skills Acquisition Training programme organised by the wife of Taraba State Governor, Barr. Anna Darius Ishaku, for the Southern Senatorial Zone, the programme has been flagged off in Donga Local Government Area of the State.

Addressing participants at the Women Centre in Donga town, the representative of the Governor’s wife, Mrs. Helen Douglas Saba declared that since inception of the Hope Afresh Foundation Taraba, Her Excellency had been following the mission of the Organisation in empowering and putting smiles on the faces of the less privileged.

She stressed that the training exercise will be carried out in Tailoring, Mechanics, Welding for a period of six months, and Cosmetology which will last for three days.

Trainees in Donga.According to her, these aspects were suggested and agreed upon during Her Excellency’s meeting with stakeholders from the Southern Zone, adding that participants should be dedicated to the training so as to reap the benefits therein.

Earlier in his remark, the Vice Chairman, Donga Local Government Area, Mr. Yakubu Suvala who received the delegation, applauded the initiative of Her Excellency, pointing out that they are delighted at what is happening in Donga today and prayed God to bless and reward the wife of the Governor.

Also speaking, the Village Head, Alh. Hassan Garsama ll  commended the peace initiative of the Governor, stressing that what is happening in Donga is an indication that with peace, development can actually be achieved.

He further called on the participants to be good ambassadors to those coming behind as well as show commitment to the exercise.

Ten trainees each in Tailoring, Welding and Mechanics were taken to the various shops and handed over to their instructors, while over 100 trainees immediately began training in cosmetology.
