Wife of Taraba State Governor, Barr. Anna Darius Ishaku has congratulated the Governor of Plateau State over the award of ‘Gindiri Old Students’ Association’s Presidential Diamond Award for a Friend of Honour and Meritorious Service in Humility’.
Speaking during the GOSA 2016 Annual Convention, Dinner and Reunion held at the Eliel Center, Rayfield Jos, Barr. Anna Ishaku who also doubled as the Dinner Chairperson stated that the Governor has uplifted the name of GOSA by appointing capable members and technocrats in his administration.
She stressed that the contribution of these appointees and cabinet members will strategically put the State on the path of progress and greatness.
The Governor’s wife also called on members to reflect on the core values and virtues which they learnt from Gindiri, noting that the virtues of discipline, dedication, holiness, decency, selflessness and reliability are missing in the society today, adding that many young ones no longer believe in hardwork and discipline and unfortunately, parents and elderly ones encourage them misbehave.
In his response after the prestigious award, Plateau State Governor, Simon Bako Lalong expressed appreciation to GOSA for the honour accorded him stressing that, he has accepted it because it was coming from a sincere heart.
According to the Governor, he shares in the conviction that gave birth to the association as history has bestowed on GOSA the role of a pathfinder and agent of renewal, a role he noted they have played creditably well.
He further admonished them to redouble their efforts in the task of making Plateau State and Nigeria a better place for humanity, assuring them of his partnership.
In his remarks, the National President GOSA, Rotgak Gofwen said the association deemed it necessary to honour Governor Lalong because his administration more than any other in recent times has given opportunity to deserving GOSA members to serve, stressing that it shows that he found value for their persons which is an indication of shared principles.
Highlights of the occasion was the Ambassadorial Recognition to Nineteen GOSA members who attained positions of authority.
The Convention was rounded up with a Thanksgiving Service at Ulster Church Gindiri on Sunday.
