The Taraba State Ministry of Education has received the sum of one hundred thousand naira, being a donation from the Nigerian Ports Authority to the students who participated in the Inter Senior Schools Debate in Abuja on the 28 of May 2016.
Presenting the money and other items to the students in his office in Jalingo, the State Commissioner of Education, Mr. Johannes Jigem appreciated the participants for making the State proud by emerging second position.
He stress that the gesture of the State Governor, Arch. Darius Dickson Ishaku is worthy of commendation saying, on the return of the participant’s the sum of one million naira was given them.
Mr Johannes Jigem added that with the arrival of the rescue mission in Taraba State, the education sector has been taken to a greater height.
Similarly, the Commissioner disclosed to Taravoices reporter in his office today that Taraba State results of WASSCE first phase has been released, with the State having high number of successful candidates.
According to him, the State Governor is ready to take the educational sector to the next level, urging the students to show more commitment and dedication to their studies.
Also speaking to Taravoices reporter, the Permanent Secretary, Mr. Samson Ada and the Director of Education Resource Center, Mr. Mambia Henry said the presentation of the items should stand as a motivation to others to see the need to study very hard.
He further urged Teachers to be proactive and never relent in impacting more knowledge to students.
Items presented to the children include; shirts and notebooks.
