The Federal Medical Center Jalingo had Friday, commissioned a 24 room ultra modern amenity ward and a maternity ward with state-of-the-art facilities to meet up with the high demand for standardized health care, bring within reach, and cut the cost of outside travels for healthcare to Tarabans.
During a ceremony held at the premises of the Center in Jalingo, the Minister of State for Health, Dr. Osagie Ehanire stressed that it was not edifices that scare patients from hospitals but the attitude of caregivers and that no matter the standard of a structure, the attitude of caregivers matter.
He tasked the Federal Medical Center to acquire all the equipment needed promising that the Ministry would assist the organization.
In his remarks, the State Commissioner of Health, Dr. Innocent Vakkai, who represented the Deputy Governor, Haruna Manu, disclosed that an agreement was entered between Taraba state and Roche to fight hepatitis in the State with N1.3 billion.
Highlight of the occasion was the commissioning of the fully airconditioned 24 ward amenity ward and the maternity ward with all the required facilities to operate, by the Minister of State for Health, Dr. Osagie Ehanire.
