Former Commissioner of Information, Culture and Tourism, Mr. Emmanuel Bello has been appointed Senior Special Assistant on Public Affairs.
His appointment is seen by insiders as a way of bolstering the media profile of the administration of Governor Darius Ishaku. Bello, a prolific media practitioner, brings into the job years of media activism which saw him playing major roles in the state’s media politics.
Bello, a former Editor of Leadership newspaper, Daily Trust, and THISDAY, would, according to the appointment letter, conduct his duties mostly in Abuja liaising with practitioners in Jalingo and around the country.
Some media practitioners in the state have hailed the appointment noting that it would compliment the efforts of the government in propagating its achievements and programs.
In a brief statement sent to Taravoices, Bello said he is excited by the opportunity offered. Bello said “I’m excited and look forward to working with my colleagues in Taraba and around the country again in improving the media content of the Rescue Agenda of my boss, Governor Ishaku”.
