With the Current ban on the importation of foreign rice into Nigeria, there is need to educate Rice farmers in the state on how to produce and process Rice in order improve their production.

A ban on rice importation has made our local farmers to go back to what they know how to do best and even in a mechanized way and at this moment giving way to subsistent farming. This also has helped by making them employers of labor through creating hundreds of jobs to reduce dependence on Government. Boosting rice production will also protect our agro-industries, naira, power, economy and per capital income farmers will be motivated to produce more of the local Rice
