Issuance of Passports Decentralized – NIS

The Comptroller of Immigration, Taraba state Command, said the issuance of International Passport had been decentralized to ease the stress people face when they need to travel abroad.

The Comptroller, Mr. Sunday Nimzing disclosed this recently in an interview with our correspondent in Jalingo.

Mr. Sunday Nimzing revealed that with written permission from the State Government, the command now issues the official blue color passport in a day.

The Immigration boss also said that foreigners could also elongate their stay in the country after following due procedures and certification.

Furthermore, the Comptroller stated that the Taraba state command of immigration operated zero tolerance for corruption in the discharge of their duties as mandated by the Comptroller-General.

Similarly, he asked Tarabans always to give necessary information to security agents for prompt action and charged them maintain the existing peace the state is enjoying.

He said that the Immigration Service, Taraba state command has kept synergy with other security agencies in the state and applauded the security heads’ meetings, which he said has been very effective.

The state Comptroller revealed that the Command has useful posts in the state that has been tracking illegal immigrants, maintaining that the national identity card remains a very viable parameter to check undocumented migrants.

He praised men of his command in the discharging of their responsibilities, assuring Tarabans that the immigration service would always deliver in line with its statutory functions and called on Tarabans to tap the abundant resources that abound in the state as Nature’s Gift to the Nation.

Other services run by the command includes the change of names, replacement of lost passports and issues that concern divorcées.
