142 Rustled Cattle Recovered By Police in Taraba

According to  the Taraba state Commissioner of Police, Yunana Yakubu Babas, a total of 142 herd of cattle and 26 sheep have been recovered and in Police custody.

IMG_20160812_174423He stated that “on July 28, 2016, in Serti, Gashaka LGA, intelligence report received by an informant revealed that a number of people were seen with cows and sheep reasonably suspected to be rustled… a team of Policemen along with vigilantes were drafted to the area, on sighting them the rustlers engaged them in a shootout but due to the superior firepower of my men, they took to their heels abandoning 142 herd of cattle and 26 sheep”.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police has stated that the ban on the use of commercial motorcycles in Jalingo metropolis was still in force, warning that anyone caught apart from the physically challenged, will be “charged to court and the motorcycle impounded”.

He also warned those, including men of the Force, who were in the habit of indiscriminate blaring of sirens, that if caught, action would be taken on them.
