Parents have been charged to embrace the war against indiscipline and  corruption for the good of their children both at home and at school.

While describing corruption in education as any dent on a person’s moral standing, the wife of the Governor called on parents and guardians to give their children and wards the needed support in all aspects to excel rather than bribing teachers or buying results for their children among other vices.

I am from Canada and I admire the Governor’s wife so much for her actions on behalf of students in her country. I pray one day it will extend to the children we support in Government schools who are forced to learn without supplies in buildings that would be condemned in most countries. Gembu Public School Sponsorship is a small group who have worked hard with their Nigerian Teachers to make a change. The change in such a short time is remarkable and rewarding for all involve. Mostly it is pleasing to Jesus who inspired the mission and continues to burden the hearts of people from 6 different countries to help children who are not dressed in cute little uniforms, were largely without foot wear, books or paper. Our hearts are broken for the children of HIV infected parents and little Muslim children who are discriminated against because their caregivers cannot afford to pay private institutions. Teachers in Government schools have not been paid for months, yet enthusiastically have co-operated to support our efforts on the children’s behalf. We celebrate the graduations of all children, they are your future. They deserve equally to receive quality education.
