Party Members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP have been assured of peaceful hosting of the forthcoming PDP National Convention which is scheduled to take place in Port Harcourt the Rivers State Capital.
Governor Nyesom Wike gave the assurance recently in Government House Port Harcourt when various committee members comprising PDP state Governors met to deliberate on how best the forthcoming PDP convention will be hosted peacefully and successfully in the state.
He said the pre-meeting was meant to to explore ways that PDP would be re-energised and repositioned so that it would become a party that people of the country would have confidence and vote back to power in 2019.
The Rivers state Governor then used the opportunity to call on all PDP members in the country to come up with useful suggestions that will help the party waxed much more stronger in preparatory to 2019 general elections.
Speaking further, Governor Wike stated that Rivers state remains one of the most peaceful state in the country, explaining that most of the said crisis and kidnapping are being perpetrated by some hoodlums outside the state capital.
The governor said that the state security network are working assiduously to bring people that have turned kidnapping and other vices to lucrative business to book.
The event was attended by the Taraba state Governor, Arch. Darius Dickson Ishaku and other PDP Governors across the country and members of the constituted committees.
