No individual,Organization has Power to Take the National Youth Council to Court

The extraordinary congress of the National Youth Council of Nigeria was held recently in Benin City, Edo State with the Chairman NYCN Taraba State Chapter Comr. Udi Adamu in attendance.The meeting was at the instance of the board ratified by the national management committee.

NYCNIn a communique issued at the end of the meeting the following were resolved. The congress commended the government and people of Edo state for their hospitality and passion for youth development in Nigeria.

It passed a vote of confidence on the leadership of the board of trustees under the tutelage of Comr. Macaulay Azugbene. It also states that “No member or individual has the power to institute a court action against the council” except the board of trustees and that any individual that does so, stands unaffiliated.

It also resolved that all internal mechanism as provided by the constitution of the NYCN, should be explored to address any grievances as enshrined in the NYCN constitution.

A constitution amendment committee was set up and inaugurated. Caretaker committee was also set up with the power to provide leadership and administrative runnings till the conduct of an elective congress.

Emmanuel George, presidential aspirant for the stool of the NYCN from Taraba was among the committee.

Taraba voices correspondent on youth activities in the state stated that time has come for youths to close ranks and support Comr. Emmanuel George at the National and Udi Adamu the state chairman NYCN for a common front in youths representation.

He said youths should channel their muscles and reflexes to youth empowerment, employment and survivability.

Our correspondent further stated that youths are the machines of the society hence the need to support and engage government in the maintenance of peace and tranquility like Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku always emphasized.
