Taraba state Governor, Arch. Darius Dickson Ishaku has solicited for prayers to enable him succeed in the rescue agenda.
Darius Ishaku made the request during a church service at ECWA Goodnews Mayo Gwoi Jalingo.
He said the journey to rescue the state has commenced in earnest and there is need for prayers at all times so as not to derail from the vision to reposition the state in a way that it would be beneficial to all and sundry.
The Governor further maintained that, the paramount agenda in his rescue mission is how to serve the people of the state diligently, adding that, he is aware that many people are praying for him regularly but stressed that he still needs more of the prayers because it is the surest means that God would continue give him more wisdom to be more proactive in his discernment.
Governor Ishaku appreciated the people of the state for praying for him during his trying moments, stating that during the period of court cases it was not easy,but God guided him and at the end crown his resilience with victory,saying this conforms with the popular saying that the voice of the people is the voice of God.
He asserted that rescuing the state is a must, adding that, he intends to bequeath a lasting legacy to the people of the state because there is so much work to be done.
Earlier in his sermon, Pastor Hope Dauda Gaina who took his scriptural reading from the book of Ezekiel 1:1-28,charged Christians to be steadfast all times, saying that, there is no specific time to serve God.
He said the persistent trouble, agony and suffering people are passing through nowadays is because the glory and favour of God has long departed from them, urging Christians to desist from immorality and embrace holiness.
The cleric admonished all Christians to always pray for their leaders, explaining that with sincere prayers to God their leaders will not depart from the path of doing good.
Prayers were offered for the first family of the state, for God to always steer him and his entire family on the path of righteousness
