Federal Commissioner National Population Commission, Senator Ambuno Zik Sunday says getting the 2016 Census Enumeration Area Demarcation (EAD) right is not just an option but an absolute necessity in the quest to deliver to the nation accurate, reliable and acceptable census.
Senator Ambuno Zik Sunday stated this in Jalingo while briefing newsmen on the activities of the commission.
He explained that the Commission is leaving no stone unturned to ensure that EAD for 2017 Census was carried out meticulously, professionally and scientifically so as to provide the basis for the smooth conduct of the Census.
According to him, the 2017 population Census would be experimented with digital capture and adopt the methodology for full-scale implementation in housing Census and subsequent surveys in Nigeria.
He said the Commission would use full image map coverage of the whole Country to ensure that no area is left undemarcated.
Senator Ambuno emphasized that the importance of the present EAD goes beyond the conduct of the next Census as it provides the national framework for future Censuses and surveys in the Country.
