All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN), has solicited the support of the Department of State Services (DSS) Taraba State Command to enable it succeed in discharging its duties.
Chairman of the Association, Abdurrahman Adamu Biyams made the request when officials of the Association paid a courtesy visit to the DSS Boss in Jalingo.
The chairman represented by the Deputy Chairman, Bala Aji said as an Umbrella body for farmers and graziers when given the needed support would go a long way in minimizing the clashes between herdsmen and farmers to the barest minimum for the progress of the state.
Bala Aji urged farmers and graziers to respect the right of one another as their importance in a society cannot be overemphasized.
Responding, Director State Services, Adamu Dodo commended the AFAN officials for the visit and assured that DSS would do anything within its limit to accord the association the needed support.
Adamu Dodo explained that in farming, prominent Nigerians like Muhammadu Buhari and Murtala Nyako had contributed immensely towards the growth of the country in agricultural sector.
The DSS Boss sued for peace among Tarabans to enable the present administration to effectively execute its rescue agenda for the benefit of all and sundry.
Dodo implored farmers and graziers to appreciate God for the gift of Arable land to enable them practice their trade and urged them to be law abiding citizens.
